How do you update and correct your HMDA data?

There are a couple of methodologies when it comes to correcting HMDA data and each has advantages and disadvantages. There is the 1) Build and Maintain method in which users only bring in New data by month or quarter to the HMDA processing system and make changes in the HMDA system. This utilizes the correction functionality of the system but does not account for changes to data in the loan origination system (LOS) (i.e. counter offers, updated information etc) 2) Year-to-date file processing entails exporting a year to date file from your LOS system and updating and records to your HMDA system. With this method, all corrections should be made directly to the LOS system. This helps keep the data in sync, but you lose the benefit of the HMDA system correction functionality. There are other hybrids of the functions as well. How do you correct your data? and what pros and cons have you experienced?
